Terms Of Business

Making your Family Story video is a serious project for us, involving considerable time and effort, and it's also our business. Therefore we have to have proper terms and conditions. Should you decide to commission us to produce a video for you there will be a formal contract that we both sign.

On this page we summarise our terms and conditions. Should we be having a serious conversation about producing a video you can request a sample copy of the full contract in advance.

So here is the summary:

  • One person will need to represent the family for the purposes of being the person commissioning the production of the video and signing the contract.

  • There will be a schedule (Schedule 1) describing the form, content and scope of the video.

  • There will be a production schedule (Schedule 2) of agreed dates when meetings, filming and delivery will take place. This schedule can be varied by mutual agreement.

  • There will be a schedule (Schedule 3) of how the final video is to be delivered.

  • There will be a schedule (Schedule 4) of the agreed fees and payments.

  • We will produce a rough cut of the video for you to review, comment on and request adjustments if any.

  • We will agree production fees with you for the work described in Schedule 1.

  • Should you request changes to Schedule 1 that involve additional work an additional fee may need to be agreed.

  • Our production fees will include VAT which will be appropriately invoiced.
    Our VAT number is
    GB182 6052 14.

  • On signing the contract a deposit of 30% of the agreed production fee including VAT will be due.

  • Work will not be commenced until the deposit has been received.

  • On delivery of the rough cut, a further 30% of the production fees will be due and the final 40% on acceptance of the final cut.

  • We will assign to you all intellectual property rights to the final video excepting our edit files.

  • We will keep any information you provide to us confidential and it will not be shared with any third party without your written permission. You can find our Privacy Policy Here.

  • You can terminate the contract by written notice on two weeks' notice.

  • If you terminate the contract once we have started any work on your project you may be liable to pay an amount pro rata to the work done.

The formal contract will, of necessity, be very much more detailed and written in legal language.

Please note that these Terms and Conditions do not and are not intended to be a form of contract and are provided for information only. E&OE
